Yesterday morning, D was going up the stairs, and came across not one but BOTH cats on the stairs. What did he do? He attempted to swoop them both up in his arms. Any guesses what happened next? Yes, exactly right. He hurt his back. Stupidly. I mean, come on. PCat weighs almost 19 pounds, and MCat is another 12. Add in the awkward angle and a back with a propensity for twinging. Needless to say, he's back to the routine of heat and cold, lying on the floor, doing his stretching exercises (which he has NOT been doing for the last month or so.... /sigh) and taking Vicodin. Duh. Duh. Duh. Ok, I'm done now. The dresser is done. NS and I finished it after the back emergency was attended to, and it is ROCK solid. She's filled it up with JE's clothes, and we no longer have big wardrobe boxes in the cargo bay. Instead they're all out on the deck, sliced up into acceptable sizes for the recycling truck on Thursday. Today, I think she and I are doing the spending of money. Groceries and then school clothes shopping for JE (school starts tomorrow, year round school, yay!!!). Seems like there was something else too. Maybe pool. But probably not, if we're going to go clothes shopping, that will be after groceries, so probably won't be time for pool till after, if at all. Forecast for today: "partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Humid with highs in the lower 90s. Heat Index 100 to 105. Southwest winds around 5 mph... Increasing to around 10 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent. " Ugh.
